Your two-day São Miguel itinerary
Two separate days for the island’s west and Furnas. This avoids trying to cover opposite ends of São Miguel in one rushed journey.
Day 1 — Sete Cidades, Mosteiros and Ferraria
We visit viewpoints over the Sete Cidades crater and lakes, the village inside the caldera, then the volcanic coast at Mosteiros and Ponta da Ferraria. Swimming in the ocean thermal zone depends on safe conditions.
Day 2 — tea and Furnas
Gorreana tea plantation, Furnas lake and fumaroles, and Pico do Ferro viewpoint. You may add a cozido das Furnas lunch and Terra Nostra or Poça da Dona Beija thermal pools; food and admission are paid separately.
