Furnas and tea plantations: the full-day route
One of São Miguel’s most memorable routes: Gorreana tea plantation, Furnas lake and fumaroles, traditional cozido das Furnas cooked with volcanic heat, and time for an optional thermal bath.
Gorreana tea plantation
On the way to Furnas, we stop among the tea terraces and learn how Azorean tea is grown and produced.
Lake, fumaroles and Pico do Ferro
In Furnas valley we visit the lake and geothermal areas. Pico do Ferro viewpoint looks out over the lake and volcanic slopes.
Cozido and thermal pools
You can choose a traditional cozido das Furnas lunch and an optional visit to Terra Nostra or Poça da Dona Beija. Lunch and admission are paid separately.
